It is the mission of the Tawas Community Concert Band to support and encourage the performance of instrumental music in Northeastern Michigan. During the school year, the Band presents three formal indoor concerts during Fall, Christmas, Spring. During the summer, the Tawas Community Concert Band brings back the flavor of the hometown outdoor "concerts-in-the-park" performances of years gone by. It is organized to provide a way for musicians to perform for personal satisfaction and growth; to present concerts for the enjoyment and cultural enrichment of the residents and visitors of the Tawas area, Iosco County, and surrounding communities; and to provide band scholarship opportunities for area high school band students.
Musicians must provide their own instruments, with the exception of some percussion, and can read band music. Rehearsals and concerts are on Monday evenings. Join us!! No auditions! For more information, call Mona at 989-469-2039.
