On Saturday, October 11, Uncle Winnie’s held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their grand opening in East Tawas. Uncle Winnie’s offers a wide assortment of quality antiques and collectibles.
After a few months of being closed, owners Karen and Len Vervaecke are delighted to once again be open. “We’re so happy to be back in business, right on Newman Street with all the activity that’s always going on here,” said Karen Vervaecke. “It’s so easy for people to come in and browse when they’re shopping downtown.”
The Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce helped perform the ribbon cutting. “We were relieved when we learned that Uncle Winnie’s would be staying in town,” said Chamber managing director, Janel Walmsley. “To be able to keep such a fun and interesting collection right in a main shopping district is fantastic; we’re very pleased they decided to reopen.”
