A ship in the harbor is safe -- but that is not what ships are built for.

The purpose of the club shall be to establish and maintain a private club and make available to to its members, and their guests, facilities for general social and recreational activities: to foster and stimulate interest in all forms of boating activities and associated functions; and to aid members in improving their knowledge of boat handling and navigation.
