Christmas Gifthouse -
The Gifthouse is held every year during the first week in December at the Tawas United Methodist Church. FISH shops wisely throughout the year to find excellent values for the money spent. Needy families are then invited to "shop" at the Gifthouse. To qualify for the Gifthouse, persons may be referred by the DHS or by any clergy person, or teacher. Applications for the Gifthouse are available at local participating churches, schools, and Department of Human Services. At the Gifthouse parents choose gifts for their children at NO cost.

All items donated are sold at an affordable price to help those in need. Cash which is generated from these sales and donations from local service organizations and churches, allows us to fund projects such as the food bank. And with it we help with individual emergency needs such as prescriptions, utilities and transportation.
As you can see, your donations, like the "loaves and fishes" in the Bible return blessings many times over.
