Celebrate the Tawases at the 66th Annual Perchville USA
Schedule of Events

Thursday, February 4
Snow Sculptures Begin, Noon (Weather Permitting)
We are thrilled to welcome professional snow sculptors to Perchville this year.  Watch throughout the week as they transform very large cubes of snow into amazing works of art on Bay Street in East Tawas.

Stag and Doe Night, 6:30 pm
Don’t miss this fun throwback event!  The gentlemen will enjoy social hour and dinner at Mr. Jack’ss in East Tawas, and the ladies will enjoy the same at Northwoods Steak House in East Tawas.  Entertainment for Stags and Does will be at Mr. Jack’ss at 9:00pm. Tickets for the event are $25 each and can be purchased at Mr. Jack’ss, Northwoods Steak House or the Chamber of Commerce.

Friday, February 5
Great Lakes Yellow Perch Dinner, 4:30 to 8:00 pm
Indulge in this delicious fish fry with all the fixings at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Newman Street, East Tawas. Cash bar and music included.

Hospitality Tent, 5:00 to 9:00 pm
Come out and celebrate Perchville-style. Karaoke and DJ Dynamixx will perform from 5-9pm.  Enjoy all the entertainment and libations in the heated big top tent at the DNR parking lot behind Harbor Park in East Tawas.  Beverage tickets are $3 and available inside the tent.  Perchville Button ($5) and photo I.D. required for entry, must be 21.

Saturday, February 6
Fishing Challenge Begins, 6:00 am
Join the fishing fun!  Open to children and adults; children under 16 are free and adults must have a Perchville button to enter their fish.  Prizes will be awarded Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the Family Tent.  There are a wide range of categories for both adult and youth under 16.  Rules available at the Chamber of Commerce and at tawas.com.

Softball Tournament, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Back by popular demand! Softball is a lot of fun, but wait until you see it in the snow! Watch as the players compete against each other and the winter elements for year-long bragging rights as 2016 Perchville Softball Champions. NEW LOCATION: Dewey Durant Park in East Tawas. Registration forms available at www.Tawas.com or by calling the Chamber at 362-8643.

Lawn Tractor & Go-Kart Races, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Bring your entire family – there’s something for everyone this year. NEW LOCATION & EVENTS: held at Dewey Durant Park, there will be go-karts races, modified and stock lawn tractor races and even a power wheels demolition derby for 5-9 year olds. Registration forms available at www.Tawas.com or by calling the Chamber at 362-8643.

Bake Sale Christ Episcopal Church, 9:00 to 2:00 pm
Don’t miss all the homemade goodies to fuel you up over the weekend festivities.  The Christ Episcopal Church is located in Downtown East Tawas on the Corner of Westover and Sawyer.

Perchville USA Parade, 10:30 am
Put on your mittens and hats and enjoy this spectacular parade featuring our Perchville King and Queen as well as Nanuk the Polar Bear.  The parade starts in Tawas City at the Fire Station, up US-23 and down Newman Street.

Chilly Cook-Off, 11:00 am
Sample delicious batches of chili from businesses on and along Newman Street.  Sample as many as you can and vote for your favorite!  Coozies are available for $6 at Brew Krew, Village Chocolatier and the Chamber of Commerce.  Hosted by the East Tawas Business Association.

Horse and Carriage Rides, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm:
Mr. Jack’ss will host horse and carriage rides from 11 to 3.  Free will donations will be accepted and proceeds will benefit the Seton Cancer Institute at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital.

Frozen Chosen Shooting Event, 11:00 am
Head on over to the Iosco Sportsman’s Club for this Vintage or any type rifle shot at 100 yards, military style shooting contest. Proceeds to benefit American Legion Honor Guard. $10 fee.

History of Perchville, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
The Iosco county Historical Museum will have a presentation with artifacts on the history of this great festival!

Family Tent, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Bring children of all ages into the family tent for fun and festive activities, games, and performances all day Saturday. So many prizes! Admission is only $2 per child, accompanying adults are free. The family tent will be presided over by the newly added Junior King & Queen and include an outdoor petting zoo, gift giveaways for 3 age groups each hour, a Ronald McDonald magic show, games, a National Guard obstacle course, karaoke, graffiti wall, balloon animals, teen scavenger hunt, and performances including a trash can ensemble.

Hospitality Tent 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Come out and celebrate Perchville-style! Entertainment by DJ Dynamixx and local sensation, FLiPSiDE.  Enjoy all the entertainment and libations in the heated big top tent at the DNR parking lot at the State Dock.  Beverage tickets are $3 and available inside the tent.  Perchville Button ($5) and photo I.D. required for entry, must be 21.

Perchville Teen Scavenger Hunt 1:30 pm
Join us for this exciting new event and explore the nooks and crannies of downtown East Tawas.  It’s simple!  Form a two-person team (must be 13-18 years of age) and test your knowledge and skills by scouting the nearby streets, parking lots and businesses in search for clues.  Be the first to complete the hunt and be recognized as the 2016 Scavenger Hunt Champions.  Forms available at tawas.com or at the Chamber office.

Polar Bear Swim, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm
Brave the ice and freezing cold water for bragging rights and a T-shirt you can’t get anywhere else!  $20 fee; entrants under 18 must have parent’s signed permission; no one under 16 is allowed.  Register at the trailer at the DNR boat launch, next to the State Police Post beginning at 11:00 am.
