For those who enjoy the sun and surf, the numerous sandy beaches and water side parks provide ample room for plenty of 'fun in the sun'.

The Tawas Point State Park provides several miles of sandy beach for walking, lying in the sun and swimming. Swimmers have their choice of the warm waters of Tawas Bay on one side of the point, or in the cooler waters and big waves of Lake Huron on the other side.

The park also contains bike paths and hiking trails along the shore and through the interior of the point. The State Park has camping facilities for RVs and tents located on the Tawas Bay side of the point.

In the cities of Tawas and East Tawas, several public beaches dot the shoreline with swimming, picnic facilities and playground equipment for the kids. The close proximity of the beaches to shopping and restaurants is also a definite plus.

The city park in East Tawas also has modern camping facilities located right on the beach.
