| For those who prefer 'pedal power', there are miles of well paved secondary roads that wind through farmland, wooded areas and past inland lakes. The cities of Tawas and East Tawas also have miles of paved bike paths, including a 7.7 mile path starting at the Tawas City limits and ending at the Lighthouse in the Tawas Point State Park. These offer the biking enthusiast many hours of riding pleasure.
If hiking is what you are looking for, the Huron National Forest provides miles of trails to explore. If you're up to it, take the 300 stairs down the AuSable River embankment at Iargo Springs and wander along the 1,000 foot boardwalk in the deep woods along the river.
