The Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Twisted Twinz Emporium in Tawas City. Twin sisters Erin DeBeck and Kristen Cherwinski own the business together, and were thrilled to welcome local residents and community leaders to their celebration last weekend.
Twisted Twinz Emporium has something for everyone: clothing, jewelry, home décor and more, with many items being creations of the twins and other local artists. The Emporium also offers a wide array of art classes. Co-owner Erin commented, “Opening the store has given us the ability to share not only our art, but to help support over 30 other local artists by sharing their art as well.” Kristen added, “Growing up, art and music were super important in our lives. We believe that whatever your craft, you should do it with your heart – the store helps us share what we love.”
Janel Malone, managing director of the Chamber, welcomed all the guests to the event and commented that “Ribbon cutting events are always exciting for our community, but today is especially fun since we are celebrating a full year of Erin and Kristen’s success.” The twins also support our community through volunteer work, with their latest endeavor the upcoming Ride for RugRats fundraiser on June 4. Proceeds will support the Tawas Blackhawks Hockey Team; contact the store for more information at (989) 984-5200.
The shop is located next to the Moose Lodge at 1131 West Lake Street (US-23) in Tawas City and is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm (closed on Tuesdays), and Sundays from noon to 5pm. Visit their website at www.twistedtwinzemporium.com or find them on Facebook.
